last nights Burn’s night at BBTC was very good. Doug K was excellent as Tam, Colin M did an excellent Ode, good company, Alasdair M won a bottle of whisky and then promptly drunk the lot with friends-he guessed correctly when Doug would fall off the perch, around line 108, usquebeath.

since my last post, I have bought the Polish observatory by paypal, remarkably easy. We’ll see how it goes. Need to power it up etc when it gets here..

photographed Orion, quite good, just with camera and tripod, but got star trails. The rule of 500 really works! Next tine I will stick to 16mm focal length or set up tracking with my HEQ 5Pro. May need parallel bars or a piggyback…….

my friend BR in a bad way, very out of sorts at the weekend. He is likely to be off to SL to fight the virus, well done to him. Would really like to go too but prob too old, not qualified enough etc.

other news- payday this week, 47 to go, 2 weeks to Whistler and Neilson and Wilson and Murphy. Can’t wait. Off to Durham this week for a cathedral; then Jaqcui W 50th, then Nice, the Germany. Maybe off to Germany in late August, but Steve TM has to lose a kidney first, COs joke .

kids all home this weekend, great to see them, P and H here till tomorrow. We are planning a family week at a villa in Portugal in Sept for Ks 21st.we’ll see
