What a great night, not too cold or wet or cloudy, no real haar,Got back from BiG at 10pm, a run and ropework tonight, south african abseiling, but I digress.
Set it up as before, way off with the polar scope as it turns out, but a two star alignment worked well, Vega and Deneb. Skies remained clear, so quickly found my grey smudge, M 13, how disappointing.
However then went on a binge, the Guided telescope tour. Albireo was beautiful, as was Caldwell 14, Perseus double cluster. Has a look at Lyra’s double double, then Algol, then Capella. Did not see m 34,34,36- for another time when Auriga is better placed. To crown it off, saw M31 for the first time properly, what a magnificent sight.
Has a look at Pegasus, but Enif too low , and its messier was behind a tree. Called it a night at 12.30am. Need to plan ahead for another night, given the great views at the moment. Really pleased
